Community Health & Fitness in Harlem on Sat, Apr 30, 2011

We are entering the final week of preparation. We've put up more than 400 posters and distributed more than 2000 post cards in Central Harlem to attract participants. We've also received more than 50 raffle prizes and lots of items for the gift bags. Since this is our first Community Health & Fitness Day, we have no idea how many people will come, but we expect large crowds based on the reaction we've received. We need your help to make this a first-rate experience for the community and for all our volunteers and partners. Not only will you be a part of this terrific event, but you'll also be joining alumni, family and friends in 40 cities who will also be addressing issues their communities as a part of Duke's mission to use knowledge in service to society.

Community Health & Fitness in Harlem on Sat, Apr 30, 2011

In just eight days you will have a  great opportunity to help our community get healthy and stay healthy. And who knows, you just might learn something!

Not a medical expert?  We need enthusiastic folks to join us as "Ask Me, I Can Help" leaders, answering questions and directing attendees to the many booths and seminars we have to offer.   And we can still use people for a couple of hours Friday, April 29th, 7:00 PM, to help with set up. Join us in making "Spring into Wellness" a success!

We are looking for Videographers and/or Photographers for the event.  Are  you a Nutritionist, willing to lead a discussion on healthy food choices, or a Personal Trainer or Fitness Enthusiast ready to answer questions about getting in shape? We also need folks for a couple of hours for DAE Eve Pre-Event, Friday April 29th at 7pm (this is where we will do all those things we don't want to worry about on the morning of the event)
