Duke NY - DUKE 91 & 92: Back to Back - Private Viewing of Broadcast Premier

Event TitleDUKE 91 & 92: Back to Back - Private Viewing of Broadcast Premier:

Date:  Mar 11, 2012

Time:  7:00PM - 10:00PM ET

Location:  The Hill (Private upstairs room)
                 416 Third Avenue (between 29th & 30th Streets)

Description: Join Duke NY at The Hill on Selection Sunday for a private viewing of the basketball documentary Duke 91 & 92: Back to Back. The documentary follows the personal stories and relationships of members of the Duke Men's Basketball squads that captured back-to-back National Championships in the early 90s, as well as one of college basketball’s most-storied programs. Teammates and coaches reveal never-before-told stories about what drove their success and, simultaneously, drove them apart. Key moments featured in the film include the upset win against undefeated UNLV in the 1991 Final Four, Laettner’s buzzer-beating jump shot against Kentucky in the 1992 East Regional Final, the repeat national title victory against the “Fab Five” of Michigan and the emotional 20-year reunion that took place where it all began — Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Former Duke All-Americans Grant Hill and Christian Laettner are executive producers of DUKE 91 & 92: Back to Back, and the documentary is produced and directed by Duke alumnae Amy Unell '03 and Madeleine Sackler '05. Amy and Madeleine will join Duke alumni to introduce the documentary (~7:45 p.m.) and to answer questions immediately following the 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. broadcast. We may even be joined by a few former Duke basketball players (pending availability)!

Alumni are invited to gather in the private upstairs space starting at 7:00 p.m. (mix with Dukies and listen to the bracketologists break down the NCAA tourney field). Food and drinks will be available for purchase; drink specials will include $4 domestic draft beers, $5 well drinks, $5 champagne, and $5 martinis, and will be available from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

The cost for this event is $10 per person and includes two drink tickets** (**valid for one drink per ticket, up to $5 value each, making the event essentially FREE). Advance registration is suggested; walk-ins space permitting.
